Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to PatternShow! Here are answers to commonly asked questions about our platform.

Getting Started

What is PatternShow?

PatternShow is a community platform where pattern designers can showcase their fabric and wallpaper designs, and users can discover patterns and create virtual "looks" by trying patterns on fashion and home decor mockups.

How do I create an account?

Click the "Register" link in the navigation menu. You'll need to provide a username, email address, and password. We recommend adding a profile picture and bio to help others connect with you.

Is PatternShow free to use?

Yes! Creating an account, browsing patterns and creating looks is completely free.

For Pattern Designers

Note: uploading patterns is currently by invitation only as PatternShow is still in beta.

How do I upload patterns?

  1. Create an account and ensure you have upload permissions (contact us if needed)
  2. Click "Create Pattern" in the navigation menu
  3. Upload your pattern image (PNG or JPG format)
  4. Add pattern details: name, description, colors, sizes
  5. Include your Spoonflower shop link for direct sales
  6. Set visibility (public or private)

What types of patterns are allowed?

  • Original, handcrafted designs only
  • No AI-generated patterns
  • Fabric and wallpaper designs suitable for printing
  • Must be your original work (no copyrighted material)

How can I sell my patterns?

You can link your Spoonflower shop to your PatternShow profile, and add direct links to your Spoonflower listings when uploading patterns.

In the pattern library and mockup credits, PatternShow will show direct purchase links for your patterns on Spoonflower, making it easy for users to buy your designs.

Can I add direct purchase links to my patterns on other platforms than Spoonflower?

I'm not very familiar with the other platforms, so currently only Spoonflower links are supported. If you have suggestions for other platforms to support, please let me know at stephane@patternshow.com. I'll do my best to try them out to see what would be the best way to integrate them so that users can easily find and purchase your patterns.

You can also add links to your other shops or portfolio in your profile links.
